28 Years of BIOTEC USA: A Georgetown Story of Science, Skin, and Second Chances

On August 18, 1998, I established BIOTEC USA in Washington, DC. This month marks our 28th anniversary, and I want to celebrate with the clients who made it all possible.

I arrived in the United States on May 13, 1991, as an immigrant with my seven-year-old daughter and a temporary work permit. There was no safety net or guarantee, just a determination to create something out of nothing. My initial setup was a rented room within a busy hair salon in downtown DC, and by December of that year, I established my first company, Tanya Bio-Aesthetics LLC. Two years later, in 1993, that modest practice expanded into Tanya Bio-Aesthetics, A Day Spa, located in the Foxhall medical building and shopping center.

By 1998, I had the courage to think bigger. While managing my DC practice full time, I spent my weekends traveling the country as a distributor and spokesperson for several European skincare companies, studying the professional beauty market from the inside out. This experience influenced everything that followed: BIOTEC USA emerged from a local business into a brand founded not only on beauty but also on the science behind it. Over 28 years, I rarely took days off, mostly during Christmas and New Year's, but I cherished every aspect of the dynamics, technology, and people involved.

The concept that initiated everything.

After working with top beauty brands for many years, I consistently observed a missing gab: the integration of technology and science within the beauty industry. This realization led to the creation of my brand BIOTEC USA: Research, Technology and Beauty, which remains the foundation of every product and service I provide today.
